District champions were crowned in baseball and the district title game set in another. In action from Wednesday night, the Riverdale baseball team came from behind with six runs in the bottom of the fifth to beat Smyrna 10-6 for the 7-Triple-A title. It's the Warrior's fourth in a row. If you missed part of the game, you can listen back to the call from Jon Dinkins and Bryan Barrett. They broadcast the game live and it's in the podcast section of our website. Riverdale will host Columbia and Smyrna will travel to Lawrence County on Monday night in the first round of region play.

It took two extra innings, but the MTCS baseball team came back to defeat county rival Eagleville 9-3. They scored six runs in the final frame for the win, which ended the Eagles' season. MTCS went on to drop the 9-A championship game to Forrest 14-to-4. However, they're ensured a region game on the road on Monday.

In softball, it's a rematch of Tuesday night's winners bracket final in District 7-Triple-A as Riverdale will again battle Siegel. The Lady Stars defeated Oakland 6-1 to clinch a region berth and a chance for the district championship. Oakland's season ends after defeating Smyrna 7-to-6 to advance to the game with Siegel. Bryan Barrett and Jon Dinkins will have the District 7-Triple-A Softball Championship Game between the Lady Warriors and the Lady Stars beginning at 5pm this (Thursday) afternoon on NewsRadio WGNS. Both Riverdale and Siegel will play in the region semifinals next Monday.
