Washington noted, "This has caught me off guard because up until about four to six weeks ago Mayor Bragg was going to run. I now have to evaluate my options."

Shane McFarland has already indicated that he is tossing his hat in that ring.

Washington commented, "I must consider using my public service and manager and administrative experience to keep our city moving forward. We cannot move toward divisiveness and the anti-government attitude prevalent today at any level of government."

WGNS News will keep you informed on this developing campaign for Murfreesboro's top political office.
