Last year, the proposed budget for the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office outlined the need for 10 new deputies. However, that did not happen. This year, Sheriff Arnold is asking for double that...

So far, 20 new deputies or even 10 new deputies have yet to been approved. Sheriff Arnold further told WGNS that he continues to have a need for detention officers in the jail. However, he still lacks a budget that will allow him to hire new officers in the jail.

The Sheriff said that an open house will take place at the jail on May 1...

Again, the open house is open to everyone to visit the Adult Detention Center at 940 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro.
