Christmas will be merrier for over eight-hundred children here in Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

Salvation Army Social Services Director Teresa Olsen tells NewsRadio WGNS it's thanks to the generosity of the citizens who picked up angels:

Today (Wednesday) is distribution day, where families will pick up the gifts that have been given. But without a caring community, it wouldn't be possible:



There are generally many tears on distribution day. Olsen says parents generally have very simple requests and every need it met - then some:



A big thank you to Averitt Trucking Company, who last Saturday, put all of the bikes and toys that needed assembly together for the families.
