Shoplifting while using a bike to getaway

WGNS is continuing to follow shoplifting stories in Murfreesboro as the cost is much more than one might imagine. Money.com reports that shoplifting and employee thefts cost retailers over $50 billion annually.

In one recent shoplifting case at the Walmart on Old Fort Parkway, a subject on a bicycle thought he made the perfect getaway. Evidently, he didn't exactly get away.

2 Packs of batteries and a bicycle chain repair kit were said to be found in the pockets of the suspect. Officers also located a glass pipe with marijuana residue on it. Plus, the man had a warrant for his arrest.

Prior to being transported jail, the man was checked out at the local hospital and given the all clear for his very own jail cell.
