The Population of inmates at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center continues to remain high. Right now, there are 798 males and 223 female inmates. Statistics from the jail show that 66.21 percent are white and 32.62 percent are black. Only 1.18% are labeled as "Other."

The average age of inmate is 34 with two over the age of 71 and 10 only 18-years of age.

Other statistics released Wednesday from the jail show that only one is recorded as having a mental illness, 17 are sex offenders, 20 have prior military service and 9 are reported to be violent.

617 Inmates in Murfreesboro are facing felony charges.

Of the inmates being held at this time, 47 were born in other countries.

454 Inmates have already been convicted and sentenced in court or are awaiting transfer to a state prison. 567 inmates have yet to be sentenced.
