The La Vergne Police Department will be looking for drunk drivers in the city on Saturday, April 5 through alcohol saturation patrols, as well as conducting sobriety checkpoints.
On April 5, from 6:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m., the La Vergne Police Department will monitor traffic for signs of impaired driving within city limits and along I-24. These saturation points will also focus on speeding, safety belt, and other road violations. Additionally, sobriety checkpoints will be set-up on Murfreesboro Road and Waldron Road between 10:00 p.m. and 1:30 a.m.
The cost of the saturation patrols are covered through a Governor Highway Office Safety grant. The grant funding pays for overtime of law enforcement officers to patrol the streets looking for drunk or impaired drivers.
