Students in grades 3 through 8 will begin taking TCAP tests this week. Murfreesboro City and Rutherford County School systems are preparing for the T-CAP testing.

Due to an early dismissal Monday and severe weather in the forecast through Tuesday, City School spokesperson Lisa Trail and county spokesman James Evans say they'll delay the start of testing until Wednesday. That means they'll be in T-CAP testing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week and Monday of next week. They'll do make-up testing next Tuesday.

Students will be assessed in math, reading, language arts, science and social studies. Parents are urged to get kids into bed early to ensure a good night's sleep. Another important note is to give kids a good breakfast each day.
