Two unknown men are suspected of trying to hold up a victim at the City Edge Flats apartment complex on Willowbrook Drive in Murfreesboro. The attempted robbery was reported on Tuesday night around 11:00.

The 25 year old victim who reported the attempted armed robbery, told police that two men approached him in the parking lot with handguns while demanding his money. Instead of handing over any cash, the victim took off running. He then hid between two vehicles in the parking lot.

While in hiding, the victim heard multiple gunshots. He then observed the two men take off on foot running towards Lion Heart Drive.

Police were able to recover a total of three spent shell casings. It was also found that one bullet entered through the window of an apartment unit and was lodged into drywall inside the apartment. As police continued to investigate the shooting, they found a small baggie of marijuana on the ground near the area of where the victim said that he ran to. There is no word yet to confirm if the marijuana was tied to the attempted hold up.

Detectives are continuing to investigate the case and thus far, arrests have not been made.
