A 32-year old Murfreesboro man is facing some serious charges dealing with a young child. 32-Year old Gregozio Mendoza of Bradyville Pike has been charged with four counts of "Sexual Exploitation of a Minor" and one count of "Sexual Battery."

Mendoza is accused of possessing pictures of a 13-year old child. Police spoke to the local victim and she disclosed that the suspect did indeed have nude photographs of her, which confirmed the identity of the child in the pictures that Mendoza allegedly possessed. Another witness further confirmed Mendoza's possesion of the pictures. During questioning, Mendoza confessed to taking the pictures of the 13-year old girl.

As police were investigating the case, it was realized that Mendoza had no legal documentation of his actual age, although he did suggest he was born in 1982 which confirms his age of 32. Mendoza, who is a native of Mexico, is being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center under an ICE Detainer.

An ICE Detainer is an immigration detainer served by the Department of Homeland Security. The order shows that the federal agency intends to assume custody of the individual that is currently in local law enforcement's custody.

According to the immigration enforcement service, detainers are critical for ICE to be able to identify and ultimately remove criminal aliens who are currently in federal, state or local custody.
