Suspect reportedly had child in SUV when involved in a DUI related accident Monday

A 36 year old Murfreesboro man who was involved in a non-injury auto accident has been charged with reckless endangerment and DUI.

Jeffery Barrett was charged with Reckless Endangerment because his juvenile daughter was in the SUV when he was said to be driving when the accident occurred on Northfield Boulevard. The wreck occurred around 4:00, Monday (8/8/16) afternoon.

An official police report shows that Barrett admitted to drinking three beers, failed a field sobriety test and had an open container of beer in his vehicle when the wreck occurred.

A family member was called to the scene to pick up the child who was waiting with police. Officers who worked the crash made a referral to the Department of Children Services.

Barrett, who is currently free on bond, will be in a Rutherford County Courtroom on October 18, 2016.
