30-year TAB President Whit Adamson was roasted Tuesday night with proceeds benefiting the Jill Green Memorial Scholarship. Green began her career at Nashville's WKDA in the 1960's. After that, she joined the Tennessee Association of Broadcasters where she served for almost 35-years until her death. The scholarship benefits electronic media communications students.

At the end of the roast, BMI presented Adamson with a gold record for his years of service to the broadcast industry.

Whit thanked everyone for their support and noted, "I'm not retiring, in fact--I'll be here as long as you want me."

Wednesday's highlights will include the introduction of new broadcast technology, sales training for broadcasters, panel discussions of the Emergency Alert System, and how radio and television stations can better serve their communities.

The keynote speaker at Wednesday's awards luncheon is Rick Sanjek, author of American Popular Music and Its Business in the Digital Age: 1985 To the Present.

WGNS welcomes Tennessee broadcasters to the Heart of Tennessee. We hope that you enjoy your stay in our city, and that you'll come back and visit again soon.
