The Question of What to do with TRASH in Rutherford County Continues

Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron said one idea being discussed is building a composting facility...



Ketron said that it is time to change the thinking process in our community...



In the meantime, more and more trash is being dumped in unwanted places. For example, on top of Tiger Hill near Joe B. Jackson Parkway and 231 South, you can find at least 5 mattresses, old sofa's and more. Mayor Ketron stated...



The current landfill will have to close in 5 to 8 years, which is why Rutherford County is searching for answers on what to do with trash generated locally.
