Theft of a purse from a car in Murfreesboro

A 33-year old Murfreesboro woman told police she was sitting in her car while talking to a friend on Greenland Drive when a man jumped into the back seat mumbling. She asked the man to get out and he left, running towards the Shell Gas Station on Greenland at Middle Tennessee Boulevard.

After the man hopped out, she realized that he took her purse with him. The man evidently threw her personal belongings out of the purse as he was leaving, taking only her wallet.

The case is under investigation.
