The Tennessee Highway Patrol continues its investigation into the fatal hit and run on Saturday, December 29, 2018, involving a female pedestrian on I-24 near the Almaville Road exit.

Evidence shows that the vehicle was a 2002-2005 white Ford Ranger, similar to the example displayed here. However, the truck should show heavy damage to the front passenger side headlight and signal light.

In earlier stories on WGNS, it was learned that the woman's deceased body was in a ditch alongside the interstate. However, the dirt in front of the ditch made it difficult for passing motorists to quickly notice the body.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is asking for assistance identifying the driver who hit and killed a woman on Interstate-24 in Rutherford County on Dec. 29.

According to THP officials, troopers responded to the scene on I-24 near the Almaville Road exit around 10:30 a.m. after a report of a deceased female laying in the ditch line of the interstate.

If you saw anything or have heard something, please contact Sergeant Joe Agee or CID Sergeant Andrew Naylor at the Tennessee Highway Patrol at 615-744-3091 or 1-800-736-0212.
