Thursday Morning House Fire On Centertree Dr.

(MURFREESBORO) Around 10:48AM Thursday (1/2/2020) morning, a fire rapidly spread throughout a home in the 2300 block of Centertree Drive. The home is off the New Salem Highway (SR 99) and in the Cason Lane area.

Reports indicate that the father was working in his home office when he smelled smoke. That was when the man opened the door to the den, which was a converted garage, and discovered the flames.

He was able to awaken his daughter and get them both out of the home without injuries.

Murfreesboro Fire Rescue's ladder 9 was the first on-the-scene, and saw heavy smoke and fire.

Firefighters began an aggressive attack on the blaze, focusing on the garage and attic areas.

In addition, ladders 1, 10, safety rescue 9, along with batallion chiefs 1 and 2 responded.

The home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.

Murfreesboro Electric Department shut-off power to the home.

The fire marshal is conducting an investigation to determine what started the fire.

In addition, the Heart of Tennessee chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting the family.
