Thursday Night Chase Ends In Fiery Crash In Smyrna

Here's an update on Thursday (4/4/2019) night's high speed chase in Smyrna that ended with a fiery crash on the Sam Ridley Parkway.

It began around 6:00 o'clock when Metro Nashville Police notified La Vergne officers that a car was stolen during a carjacking and it might possibly be near I-24.

Within minutes La Vergne Officer Darby spoted the stolen vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

The suspect fled onto the interstate and the pursuit began.

The culprits then exited onto the Sam Ridley Parkway in Smyrna with officers on their tail.

The driver lost control and left the roadway and caught on fire. Officers rescued the trapped occupants and placed them in custody of Metro Police, while firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Two suspects were arrested, including one adult female and one male juvenile.
