Some encouraging news from the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Traffic fatalities on state roadways are down nearly 14-percent for the first six months of the year. Those numbers are compared to the same time frame last year. There were 436 fatalities between January 1st and June 30th, 70 less than last year. Also, the number of alcohol-related crashes are down nearly 11-percent. There were 975 impaired driving wrecks in the first six months, compared to almost 11-hundred last year.
