(MURFREESBORO) The Rutherford County Library System continues to have a "lock down" on their buildings, but they are offering limited curbside service at Linebaugh only.

Director Rita Shacklett said, "Like everyone else, we're following the COVID-19 outbreak closely and taking steps to stay as safe and healthy as possible. That's why all branches of the Rutherford County Library System will remain closed through Saturday, April 4."

She explained that fines will not accrue on materials due during that time, so there is no need to return them until the libraries reopen. Please make use of our online resources such as OverDrive (Libby) and Hoopla for e-books, e-audios, music, movies and more. If you need to renew your current library card, email Carol Ghattas at cghattas@rclstn.org, and she will update your card as soon as possible. If you don't have a library card, but want to use online resources, you can visit our website at rclstn.org and sign up for an e-card.

Shacklett announced that beginning this Monday, for the entire week (March 23-27, 2020) the Linebaugh branch only, will offer limited curbside service for pickup of available holds. She stressed that this was the Linebaugh branch only.

To place a hold, visit our Rutherford County Library System app or rclstn.org website and search the online catalog for an item. Place the hold, and once you've received notification of its availability, you can visit the library between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., parking in the pull-off area on Church Street, text or call the curbside number 615-809-9225, giving staff your name and library card number. They will check the items out and bring them to your car.

Again, this service will be offered only Monday through Friday from 10AM - 2PM at Linebaugh Public Library. No other services will be offered at this time.

Shacklett said, "We know the library is a valued resource for so many readers and supporters. We want to get back to normal as quickly and safely as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this decision might cause, but we appreciate your understanding and always appreciate your support."
