Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department's Ladders 6 and 7 and Rescues 7 and 8 responded to a house fire located at 3335 Vintage Grove Parkway just after 10:00 Tuesday night.

When crews arrived on scene, flames could be seen exiting a vent in the roof. The fire was located in the attic.

According to Shift Commander Tim Swann, the fire was extinguished quickly and damage was contained to the attic area of the home.

The residents will most likely be displaced due to the hole in the roof. "We have no way to board it up at this time," said Swann,
"and with the heavy rains, it will be leaking."

The Fire Marshals' Office was called to the scene to conduct a routine investigation. However, Swann believes lightning was the culprit. "The vent was likely struck by lightning," he said. "There is lighting popping off everywhere tonight."

No one was injured in the incident
