The 41st annual Uncle Dave Macon Days didn't disappoint. The music festival held each July in Cannonsbugh Pioneer Villiage in Murfreesboro honors traditional American music and the career of Dave Macon, the first Grand Ole Opry superstar.
Considered one of the premier summer events, the family festival garners a crowd of over 20-thousand each year. It was recently selected as a Top 20 Event by the Southeastern Tourist Society and one of Tennessee's 15 Top Summer Sizzlin' events by the Tennessee Department of Tourism.
The event took place Friday and Saturday and included national championships in music and dance, activities for the children, local concessions and of course, great music.
