Case under investigation: A 16-year old girl was the victim of an attempted abduction in Murfreesboro. The incident occurred outside of the Cheddar’s Restaurant on Old Fort Parkway. A police report that was released on Wednesday morning shows that the attempted kidnapping happened on December 30th at 8 in the evening.

The victim told officers that an unknown man in a dark colored truck with off road tires approached her as she was getting into her car. The culprit, described as a white male in his twenties with a tattoo on his neck just below his ear, grabbed her arm and tried to pull her into the truck. As the man was attempting to pull her into the truck, the victim heard a second male who was sitting in the driver’s seat state, “Hurry up, get her in the truck, she’d look good in here.”

The teenager said she screamed as the man was pulling her away from her car and into his truck and as she was screaming, a customer of Old Chicago next door to Cheddar’s walked outside. The victim say's the two men quickly fled the scene. The 16-year old says she then ran into Cheddar’s. Instead of calling 9-1-1, a police report shows that the victim and her parents instead went to the police department to file a report.

From what we understand at this point, the circumstance of the situation is now under investigation. Police told us they could not comment on the actual investigation because the case involves a juvenile.
