Rutherford County will install special lock boxes in every Rutherford County operated school in the near future. Mayor Ernest Burgess told us that he recently approved the purchase of the boxes. We asked the mayor what would be stored in the boxes…
On Wednesday afternoon WGNS asked Lisa Marchesoni about the lock boxes and specifically what they would be used for. Marchesoni is the public information officer for the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. She told us that she could not release any details regarding the lock boxes, because they are tied to school safety plans and actions.
For the well being of children attending schools in Rutherford County, all measures and plans dealing with school safety will not be released.
