Voter turnout for the August 4th state and federal primary and city/county general election was a dismal five-point-eight-six percent. Rutherford County Election Administrator Alan Farley says voter turnout for the candidates is a matter of perspective...

21,894 Rutherford County voters went to the polls. Of those, 57-percent voted early (12568) to only 43-percent (9,326) who voted on election day. It's widely believed that voter turnout November 8th will be much higher. Voters will head to the polls to decide on president and many state and federal general elections will be held. NewsRadio WGNS will have complete coverage up to and including election night.
