Murfreesboro Medical Clinic proudly announces the addition of Adam A. Allie, M.D. to the Internal and Family Medicine department. Dr. Allie is Board Certified through the American Academy of Family Physicians. He joins MMC in November.

Dr. Allie received a dual undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology in 2004 at the University of South Carolina. He earned his Medical Degree in 2008 from West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Allie's postdoctoral training included an internship completed in 2009 at AnMed Health in Anderson, SC followed by the completion of his Family Medicine Residency in 2011 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital in Kingsport, TN.

"Dr. Allie comes to us with multiple certifications, awards for his accomplishments, and years of practical and volunteer experience," said MMC President, Dr. Jimmy Carter. "We are excited to see what he will achieve within the Clinic and the community."

Prior to joining MMC, Dr. Allie has served as Family Physician, Attending Physician, Medical Director, and Assistant Professor in South Carolina. With a passion for serving those in need, he has volunteered in Haiti working with TB/AIDS patients, a pediatric surgery center in New York, assisted patients in the psychiatric ward and ER at a hospital in South Carolina, and is an official ring side doctor for adolescents and teens with the USA Amateur Boxing League.

In addition to his Board Certification, Dr. Allie's other certifications include those from the American College of Surgeons, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, Basic Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Dr. Allie is the recipient of several awards including a full scholarship from the National Rural Health Service Corps and the ETSU Family Resident Teaching Award. In 2011, Dr. Allie was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, which recognizes medical professionals for their "integrity, excellence, compassion, altruism, respect and empathy."

"Patients need to know that they will not only be cared for professionally," added CEO, Joey Peay, "but also that their physician can relate to them as an individual. Dr. Allie is a superior model of compassion and empathy as a physician."

When he is not caring for patients, Dr. Allie enjoys the outdoors, traveling, playing the banjo and guitar, sculpting, magic, history, and movies. He is also a marathon runner and completed a 100-mile endurance run in 2012.
