A local resident took it upon himself to physically block in an alleged drunk driver at a Manson Pike gas station in Murfreesboro on Wednesday evening.   The Good Samaritan told police he noticed the possible drunk driver swerving all over the road in her Nissan and pulled in behind her when she stopped at the BP gas station.

When officers arrived they witnessed 44-year old Tammy C. Weeks sitting on the sidewalk next to her car. The police report states, “if the complainant wouldn’t have blocked her in, she was going to drive to Your Burger to get dinner for her kids.” The children were age 3 and 5, according to the report. Officer Benson noted on the arrest report that Weeks failed a field sobriety test and was arrested for DUI and reckless endangerment. The reckless endangerment charge was filed because the children were in the car with her.

According to the report, it would appear that police did not observe Weeks driving the vehicle prior to her arrest. Despite the fact that she was outside of the vehicle when officers arrived and had her keys in her pocket, she did admit to driving to the gas station to specifically purchase gas.

The case will head to court in February of next year.
