Imagine what Rutherford County was like in 1911. A family home cost about $2,625. The average income was $983 per year. A tasty steak at your favorite meat market would set you back 20-cents and a loaf of bread to go with the steak was only 5-cents.

This month, two women who just turned 105 years old who were born in 1911 and 7 other ladies who just turned 100 along with one man, will celebrate their birthdays in Rutherford County.
