Two of three children at a home in Murfreesboro on Cedar Street were removed from the custody of their father and live in girlfriend earlier this week. The children were alldgedly living in deplorable conditions. Rooms at the home in question were covered in dog feces and urine.
David Jones, director of codes for the county, evidently found that the home was unlivable in its current state. Prior to Jones arrival, one child was seen by a deputy walking through the home in bare feet. Most of the floor was said to be saturated in urine and feces.
Two of the three children were turned over to the Department of Children's Services for proper guardian care.
In addition to two of the three children being removed from the couples custody, 11 dogs were also taken from the home by the Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Wellfare Services Department.
24-year-old Travis Krueger and girlfriend, 22-year-old Jennifer Winstanley were both arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and animal cruelty.
