With a spot in the playoffs on the line, Siegel moved up their game with Cookeville to Thursday to beat the anticipated rain Friday.

A 20-to-nothing run by Cookeville in the second half erased a one-point halftime lead for Siegel enroute to a 48-30 win by the Cavaliers.

Siegel got down 14-nothing before senior quarterback Brenden Crowell found Caleb Bull for a 27-yard touchdown to start the second quarter:

Crowell would leave the game shortly thereafter after being sacked with an upper body injury. The Stars scored nine points in the final 1:30 of the first half to take a 22-21 lead at the break.

The Cavaliers came out in the second half and scored two touchdowns in the third quarter to put the game away. Siegel had seven turnovers in the game.

With the loss, Siegel's season ends with a record of 4-6 and 2-4 in the region.

Cookeville, with the win, assures themselves a playoff spot. Blackman plays at Riverdale Friday night. Those teams will finish - in some order - two, three and four - in the region. Their seeding will depend on the outcome of Friday night's games.

Hear the Blaze at the Warriors on State Farm Prep Football beginning at 6pm pregame, 7pm kickoff.
