Former Rutherford County School Superintendent Clifford Brothers, Jr. has passed away.

He served as leader of the school system from 1970 to 1974. Brothers, who was 85, was a graduate of Christiana High School and MTSU.

He is survived by two sons, Kent and Wayne Brothers and daughter Suzanne Allen. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
