Tennessee GOP Chairman Scott Golden and Senate District 14 GOP Republican candidate Shane Reeves will be the featured speakers the quarterly Rutherford County Republican Party luncheon series, scheduled for noon this Thursday, February 8th, at the Doubletree Hotel in Murfreesboro. The doors are open at 11:30AM.

Golden has been involved in Tennessee politics for almost two decades, and his involvement spans geographically from being a West Tennessee Field director of the party, to working for Presidential Candidate Steve Forbes in New Hampshire.

After moving back to Tennessee, Golden was the Field Director for Van Hilleary for Governor. In 2003 he began working in the office of Congressman Marsha Blackburn as a Field Representative, and eventually becoming Chief of Staff. He later became Chief of Staff for Congressman Stephen Fincher before he was elected Chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party.

Prior to election as chairman, Scott Golden had been a member of the State Executive Committee since 2007 representing the 27th State Senate District. He also attended the 2008 and 2012 Republican National Conventions as a member of the Tennessee Delegation. In 2010, Golden was the Madison County Republican Party Man of the Year.

Scott Golden received a BS in Political Science from the University of Lambuth and a MA in Political Science from the University of Rhode Island. He has been married to his wife Christie for 14 years. They have three children, Ela, Kipi and Andrew. He is a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Jackson, TN.

After attending Middle Tennessee Christian School and graduating from Oakland High School, Shane Reeves went on to earn an undergraduate degree from Middle Tennessee State University and a Doctorate of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee.

Following graduation, Shane bought into the family pharmaceutical business, named Reeves-Sain Family of Medical Services, in Rutherford County. Reeves and his business partner sold their retail and specialty pharmacy in 2015. In 2016, Reeves launched a new pharmacy focused on chronic patients in post acute care called Twelve Stone Health Partners.

In 1998, Reeves-Sain was awarded Tennessee's Student Preceptors of the Year for excellence in student training by the University of Tennessee. Reeves-Sain has received two prestigious awards for innovation, the first was by the Tennessee Pharmacist Association (TPA) in 2000 and the second was by the Nashville Business Journal in 2008. Twelve Stone was recognized for innovation in 2016. In 2003, Shane was recognized as Tennessee's Young Pharmacist of the year.

In addition to Shane's professional endeavors, he is highly active in his community, serving as past Chairman for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, past-president of Leadership Rutherford, past board member in Leadership Middle Tennessee and past chairman for Tennessee's National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) leadership council. In 2005, Shane was honored as Tennessee's small business champion by NFIB. In 2012, Reeves, and his partner, Rick Sain were given the prestigious "Business People of the Year" award from the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. In 2017, Reeves was invited to be part of the Fellows Program with the Nashville Healthcare Council. Shane has also been active in the Blue Raider Athletic Association, Alzheimer's Association (past Memory walk Corporate Chair), American Heart Association (co-chair for Heart Ball in 2017), and the American Cancer Society.

Shane has been around politics his entire life, highly influenced by his dad, former Murfreesboro Mayor Richard Reeves. Reeves has been involved in numerous campaigns on the local, state and federal level. Reeves was elected as a Bush delegate in 2004 for the Republican National Committee in New York City.

Reeves is very proud to serve as a deacon at the North Blvd. Church of Christ. He and his wife, Amanda, live in Murfreesboro with their three children, Will, Jack and Emma-White.

She added that Mr. Golden is the latest prominent public figure to speak at the luncheon series that was started three years ago. The series, which has become quite popular and sell-outs, have previously featured US Senator Bob Corker, Dr. Carol M. Swain, former US Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, US Representative Scott DesJarlais and Tennessee House Speaker Beth Harwell, among others.

"This is the premier luncheon for people who want to hear and talk to public figures who have an impact on the course of public discourse and policies," added Chairman Barrett.
