6:52AM I-24 Eastbound (79-80 mile marker) small car vs pickup, possible entrapment
There are so many traffic accidents at this time that the Sheriff's Office is having to limit response to "accidents with injury".
Church St., just before Middle Tennessee, pedestrian hit while walking---bridge over railroad tracks frozen and you slide down each side.
6:55AM 10-46 on Memorial close to Sir Pizza
A fire truck responding to a crash has slid off the roadway. (6:56AM)
Overturned vehicle State Route 840 at 64 mile marker (deputy who checked that accident says no one there)
7:00AM A listener called warning that the New Nashville Highway from Bumpus Harley Davidson to Smyrna is very icy.
7:02AM Blocking Thompson Lane at Old Fort Parkway (ice and crashes)

7:18AM 3 vehicle pile-up Midland at Fosterville (injury accident)
NOTICE: not only is there a shortage of police vehicles to answer the large number of accidents, we are now hearing reports of ambulances are in short supply as well.
7:20AM I-24 (exit 80--New Salem Highway, eastbound) and vehicles are leaking fluid
Notice: westbound (toward Nashville at mile marker 80, New Salem Hwy) I-40 is shut down
Notice: City warns motorists to AVOID S. CHURCH STREET BRIDGE over railroad tracks, near the post office. The bridge is solid ice.
Notice: wreckers are in "short supply", response time is LONG as of now.
7:27AM 10-46 Memorial @ Thompson Lane (near VA hospital)
7:28AM 10-46 Shelbyville Pike at Fosterville (crash involving a semi, large wrecker being secured)...RCSO has closed a lane of traffic until the big rig is cleared from roadway.
7:39AM I-24 around the 80 (Salem Highway) and 81 mile marker (S. Church) is closed. Extremely icy interstate, and there are 10 crashes being worked in that area now.

8:04AM RCSO reported about 50 accidents currently working
8:09AM I-24 at MM 74 accident and Highway 840 at Veterans Parkway
8:14AM North Rutherford Boulevard shut down due to accident as authorities move vehicles out of the ditches
8:15AM Dispatch trying to get salt trucks out to exit 78 exit ramp in an attempt to open roadway. While responding to several accidents there, another 10-45 occurred. Roadway is very slick with ice.

8:31AM Murfreesboro PD: Old Fort Parkway near Thompson Lane and I-24 is down to 1 lane
8:32AM Heavy snow crossing I-65 and coming our way.
8:32AM From Office of Emergency Management: Travel in Rutherford County is extremely hazardous with multiple wrecks occurring throughout the county. Do not drive this morning if you don't have to!
8:33AM Tennessee State offices not opening until 10 a.m. today
8:35AM TSSAA is advising teams across the state to move their sectional games to Tuesday
8:35AM The Murfreesboro Police Department is currently working numerous traffic crashes due to the icy conditions on several bridges and overpasses inside the city limits. At this time Old Fort Parkway near Thompson Land and I-24 is down to one lane. The ramps at Medical Center Parkway and I-24 are very dangerous. The bridge on S. Church Street (U. S. 231 South) over the railroad tracks, near the Post Office is very treacherous. We have many bridges and overpasses in our city therefore, if you can possibly stay off the roads please do so. Our officers are working diligently to handle all calls and will continue to work with the street department to attempt to get roads treated.

8:48AM From RCSO: Ice and flooding closed several Rutherford County roads. Numerous crashes occurred throughout the county. Roads include:
- Powell’s Chapel slab.
- Stones River slab.
- Goochie Ford at the slab.
- 1100 block of Vaught Road
Roads impassable due to high water include:
- Versailles at Longview at the county line.
- Armstrong Valley.
- Elam Road slab.
- Epps Mill near Miller.
Icy roads include:
- Weakley Lane.
- Baker Road.
- Florence Road near Singer.
- Armstrong Valley near Yeargan.
9:01AM From RCSO: Interstate 24 westbound near Joe B. Jackson Parkway has been closed due to crashes caused by icy weather conditions, said Rutherford County Sheriff’s Communications Division. Current crashes:
- Interstate 840 near the 61 mile marker.
- Midland-Fosterville Road.
- Almaville Road near Spanntown Road.
- Shores Road and Veterans Parkway.

9:20AM From RCSO: Interstate 24 near Joe B. Jackson Parkway is open but traffic is moving slowly. Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office deputies worked about 100 crashes from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. Monday. Most of the crashes occurred on I-24 and State Route 840.
