Man charged with 13 counts of statutory rape by an authority figure will head to trial

UPDATE: 45-Year-old Ronald David Harris was scheduled to file a plea in a Rutherford County Circuit Courtroom on Friday (7/21/17), but instead asked for a complete trial.

Harris, who was arrested by LaVergne Police in 2016, was the subject of an investigation involving a child which lead to his arrest.

The Rutherford County Grand Jury was given the case which led to additional charges as opposed to the original arrest that landed Harris in jail.

The Antioch man, who is currently behind bars, will appear in court for a four day trial on October 2, 2017. His pre-trial hearing will be on September 15th.

Harris will face the following charges during trial in October.

  • 13 counts of statutory rape by an authority figure
  • 13 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor
  • Sexual exploitation of a minor over 100 times
