Smyrna Defeats Siegel 42-14

Smyrna outscores Siegel 28-7 in the second half enroute to a 42-14 win on homecoming. The Stars, trailing 14-7, attempt an on-side kick to start the second half. It didn't go 10-yards so the Bulldogs take over at their 46-yard line. The next play junior running back Blake Watkins scores:

Smyrna took advantage of three Siegel fumbles and an interception, plus had big scoring plays to take their record to 4-3 going into fall break. Siegel drops to 3-4.

Watkins finished the night with 20 carries for 121 yards and two touchdowns. Bulldog junior quarterback Alex Bannister was 10-of-12 for 112 yards passing and threw for two touchdowns.

Stars senior running back Leland Wilhoite had 23 carries for 188 yards. Wide receiver Caleb Bull caught two touchdown passes from Brendan Crowell of 18 and 24 yards for their two scores.
