StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna Expanding to the tune of $10.5 Million

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Smyrna is expanding the Emergency Room. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Tuesday (10/24/17).

The 10.5 million dollar expansion will include a behavioral health unit and a clinical decision unit, for patients that are not ready to be admitted to the facility but need additional evaluation and medical care.

StoneCrest officials report, "Emergency departments across the nation are experiencing an overall increase in patient volume and the ER at TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center is no different. Currently, the hospital industry standards claim 1500-1800 visits per bed per year for capacity. TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center's ER is currently averaging 2300 visits per bed per year.

Again, construction is now starting on the Emergency Room expansion at StoneCrest in Smyrna to better serve Rutherford County.
