UPDATE: One dead after Tuesday night shooting in Murfreesboro - Arrests Made

WGNS now has more information on a shooting that took place on Tuesday (5/16/17) night in Murfreesboro at Gateway Apartments.

Around 8:00 this past Tuesday (5/16/17) night, Murfreesboro Police Officers responded to 1841 New Lascassas Pike in reference to shots fired. Officers arrived at 8:13pm and discovered the victim, Kendrick Love, near a picnic table adjacent to the J building. Love had one gunshot wound to the upper torso and his injuries were deemed to be life-threatening. Love was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Multiple arrests have since been made in the murder of Kendrick Love.

One adult, Jeremy Noah Soto-Morales and two 17 year old juveniles have been charged with 1st degree murder in the case. Morales is being held at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department and the juveniles have been booked into the Rutherford County Juvenile Detention Center.

The trio had contact with Mr. Love on the evening of May 16th and attempted to rob him. An altercation occurred which resulted in a fatal gunshot to Mr. Love.

These arrests were a result of tireless efforts by the Violent Crimes unit.

Kendrick Love turned 18 just 4 days before he was shot and killed. He lived on Antieam Lane in Murfreesboro.

Sgt. Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Department confirmed that this is the second homicide in 2017.
