The Wings of Freedom Fish Fry, sponsored by the Smyrna Rotary Club, drew a record crowd this year. The event was held at the Corporate Flight Hanger at the Smyrna-Rutherford County Airport on Saturday. Those who attended enjoyed catfish, chicken, slaw and more along with great conversation. WGNS' Bryan Barrett and Truman Jones were there along with thousands. Organizers believe it was their largest crowd to date, brought out by the beautiful fall-like weather. Though final numbers aren't in just yet, it's believed the fish fry will raise around 100-thousand dollars, which the club will put back into the community through various gifts.
