The Cold Case Unit at the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office has teamed with the TBI to open a 40-year old murder case. On March 25, 1977, the body of Stanley Smith was found in an abandoned house off Van Cleve Lane, near the battlefield . . .

He explained that DNA and forensic science have changed dramatically since 1977, and he feels this murder is solvable . . .

Detective Kohler said, "Someone listening may hold the key to solving this case and not even realize it."

Stanley Smith grew-up on Richardson Avenue; that's a block-long street that connects East Vine on one side with East State Street on the other.
