Uncle Dave Macon Days has postponed the 42nd Annual Uncle Dave Macon Days known as "A Roots Rendezvous," scheduled for September 25 to 26th, 2020. Instead, it will be online and is now scheduled to start June 20, 2020 at 12 noon.

With a local impact of over 1.5 million dollars annually, Uncle Dave Macon Days has emerged from a small gathering under the stately columns of the Rutherford County Courthouse in 1978 to one of the South's largest roots music, crowd-gathering festivals located on the banks of Town Creek in Cannonsburgh Village in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Forty-three years later, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted large events including Uncle Dave Macon Days. Although the warm harmonies and rhythmic porch pickin' are suspended for 2020, organizers will continue in a new way for 2020.

Organizer Gloria Christy tells us the music can be found online at "http://RootsRendezvous.com/"...

Uncle Dave Macon Days' mission to preserve and perpetuate America's Roots Music is using its creative energy for it first online festival, "Virtual Roots Rendezvous Fest", June 20, 2020 from 12pm-2pm. Uncle Dave Macon Days will present "Virtual Roots Rendezvous Fest" hosted by Marcia Campbell featuring some of the best in Americana, Roots, and Bluegrass music. The festival will benefit those musicians and artists that have been impacted financially by COVID-19.

Again, this year you can log onto http://RootsRendezvous.com/ to listen and watch the first "Virtual" Uncle Dave Macon Days.

Mission:

Uncle Dave Macon Days presents Roots Rendezvous will creatively capitalize on the moment impacted by the disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose:

In keeping with the objectives of Uncle Dave Macon Days which is to preserve and perpetuate the Roots of American music, UDMD presents Roots Rendezvous will demonstrate how to stay safe through virtual on-line festivals with some of the "best" artists in Americana, Roots, and Bluegrass music.

Objective:

Create a "brand new" way to sustain and monetize festivals and events through streaming and on-line venues and concerts on multiple platforms.

Potential:

The possibilities are there to fundamentally transform the way we are entertained through this virtual model in the months to come. However, the revenue potential is unknown through (7) virtual Roots Rendezvous Fests. Potential would be realized as we advertise and market through social media.

Benefit:

These virtual on-line fests will financially benefit the artists and musicians that are currently unemployed. It will also create a presence and fresh content when the festivals return for live performances in the future. The unintended benefit are new collaborative partnerships and talent. With a continued commitment to authentic roots music, plans are already underway for an amazing 2021 UDMD festival.

ALL VIRTUAL ROOTS RENDEZVOUS FESTS WILL BE HELD AT 12-2 pm CENTRAL STANDARD TIME
