WGNS has received numerous emails in regards to a video that was posted on YouTube during a July 4th sobriety checkpoint. In the video, a man claims he was wrongfully asked to step out of his car. The video went viral in less than 24-hours with over 190,000 views. The question we have, was anything actually done illegally in the video?

We asked the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office if they had any comments on the video in question. Lisa Marchesoni with the Sheriff’s Office stated, “We are looking into the matter to determine if there are any policy or procedure violations.”

WGNS was asked in an email if this was the first video this person has made? The answer to that is “No.” In another video, allegedly shot by the same person in Murfreesboro, the person behind the camera does what he called “Reverse Panhandling.”
