MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - A suspected lightning strike sparked a house fire on Slater Drive, drawing a heavy emergency response from local crews. Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department arrived at the scene to find smoke coming from the front of the home. Firefighters rushed into the building and quickly put out the flames.
The emergency response brought a massive lineup of local resources to the neighborhood. Responding units included Ladder 1, Engine 9, Ladder 11, Rescue 1, Battalion Chief 1, Battalion Chief 2, Safety 1, Safety 2, Car 131, and the Assistant Fire Marshal.
Fortunately, the home was empty when the fire broke out, and officials reported no injuries. The Rutherford County Fire Rescue Department assisted Murfreesboro crews on the scene. The MFRD Fire Marshal’s Office is now investigating the exact cause of the fire.
