MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Murfreesboro will gather Thursday morning, October 29, 2026, for the annual Building Brighter Futures Breakfast, presented by Middle Tennessee Electric (MTE). From 7:45 to 9:00AM guests will enjoy a morning at The View at the Fountains for a warm, community‑centered event that supports one of Rutherford County’s most compassionate nonprofits: Kymari House.
If you’ve lived here long enough, you’ve probably heard the name. Kymari House opened in 2012—fourteen years ago now—and has quietly become one of Murfreesboro’s most trusted places for families navigating difficult seasons. The organization was founded in memory of little Kymari Clark, a local child whose tragic death at just 16 months, inspired a mission rooted in safety, dignity, and connection. That mission continues today with a simple promise: keep children safe while helping families stay connected.
A Safe Space for Children, A Steady Hand for Parents
At its core, Kymari House provides supervised visitation for families who need court‑ordered parenting time. It’s a neutral, conflict‑free environment where children can relax, play, and spend meaningful time with their noncustodial parent under trained supervision. For many families, it’s the only place where those bonds can be nurtured without fear, tension, or instability.
The nonprofit also offers parent coaching, Nurturing Parenting education, and a sliding‑scale fee structure that ensures no family is turned away. Additional programs like Family Forward, which supports families impacted by opioid use, and HOPE Trainings, which teach trauma‑informed care and resilience, round out a mission that’s as practical as it is compassionate.
Community Support That Builds Stability
This year’s breakfast is more than a fundraiser—it’s a lifeline. Sponsorships led by presenting sponsor MTE help Kymari House continue providing these essential services to families across Rutherford County. Sponsors receive recognition in event materials and signage, but the real reward is knowing their support directly strengthens the safety and stability of local children.
“The Building Brighter Futures Breakfast is more than just an event, it’s a lifeline,” said Emily McKee, Executive Director of Kymari House. “We are incredibly grateful to MTE for stepping up as our presenting sponsor this year. Every sponsorship and donation directly supports the safety, stability, and well‑being of children in our care.”
Attendance is free, though seating is limited, and guests will have the opportunity to donate during the program. To learn more about Kymari House, visit their website at https://kymarihouse.org/ or phone (615) 956-6106.
