In this case, the vehicle the murder was driving was found in a parking lot at the Nashville BNA Airport. However, the wanted man was nowhere to be found.
After time had passed, the suspect was pulled over 99-miles southeast of Murfreesboro in another vehicle. The man was stopped by police in Chattanooga, TN for driving the wrong direction down a public roadway and into oncoming traffic. At first, the subject tried to convince the arresting officer that he was someone else, later admitting to his real identity and the charges he was wanted on in Rutherford County. Cold Case Profile: Renewed Pleas for Information in 2020 Cold Case Murder
Murfreesboro law enforcement are continuing their push for answers in a chilling cold case that has left a local family without closure for years. It all started on the morning of May 17, 2020, when the Murfreesboro Police Department was dispatched to a duplex situated in the 700 block of East Northfield Boulevard. First responders arrived at what initially appeared to be a quiet residential neighborhood, only to uncover a grim scene. "Upon their arrival, the police discovered the lifeless body of 45-year-old Thomas Holland.”
Holland had been brutally shot multiple times, and his body was found lying on the driveway of the duplex. Despite extensive initial investigations, canvassing of the neighborhood, and countless hours spent analyzing forensic evidence, the trail went cold, and no one has been arrested for this brutal crime.
