MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Murfreesboro Police Department (MPD) officers took two suspects into custody following an afternoon shooting at InTown Suites Friday that sent two victims to the hospital with gunshot wounds.

The suspects attempted to flee the scene on foot immediately after the gunfire just before 3:30pm. MPD officers quickly apprehended both individuals in the parking lot of the neighboring Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT).

Deputies from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) assisted MPD at the scene. RCSO deputies helped secure the perimeter and conducted a search for the suspects using a K9 unit.

Detectives from the MPD Criminal Investigations Division continue to investigate the shooting.
