EAGLEVILLE, Tenn. (WGNS) - United Communications delivered cookies from The Southern Baking Co. in Spring Hill to the Eagleville Fire Department on Tuesday (August 18th) to honor local emergency crews for Volunteer Firefighters Recognition Day. Ryan Remisoski of United Communications delivered the baked goods directly to local personnel as part of a region-wide appreciation effort.

Volunteer firefighters make up nearly 60% of Tennessee’s fire service, and volunteer crews staff over 73% of the fire departments across the state. These emergency responders protect local neighborhoods while managing full-time jobs, families, and personal responsibilities.

"Volunteer firefighters are people that our communities depend on, and United is proud to support them," said William Bradford, president and CEO of United Communications. "Providing free reliable connectivity and taking time to say thank you are two ways we can show up for the communities we call home."

Along with local outreach, United Communications provides complimentary fiber internet service to 17 volunteer fire stations across Bedford, Franklin, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Rutherford, and Williamson counties. High-speed broadband allows local fire departments to coordinate emergency response efforts, complete online training, access critical safety resources, and communicate directly with other public safety agencies.

United Communications currently serves more than 50,000 residential and business customers across Middle Tennessee. The company continues to invest locally through broadband expansion, public Wi-Fi initiatives, and partnerships with local non-profit organizations.
