Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department responded to a fire call at 2413 Racquet Club Drive just after 12:00 Wednesday afternoon (7/10/2013).

Districts 9 and 1 responded to the scene, with Rescue 9 being the first to arrive. Upon arrival, there was nothing visible from the outside of the home. Crews knocked on the door and were able to make contact with the occupant.

The occupant lead them to the kitchen. The fire was already out, but light smoke was lingering. Crews opened windows to ventilate the area.

The kitchen cabinets above the stove were damaged, as well as the fan and sink.

The Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene to investigate. Preliminary investigation revealed that the cause of the fire was unattended cooking.
