MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - A serious two-vehicle collision closed Eastbound Compton Road at Madison Avenue on Monday (September 14th).

Crash scene investigators determined the driver of a passenger car traveled westbound on Compton Road when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and struck a pickup truck. Emergency medical personnel transported the driver of the car to a local hospital. At last check, medical staff reported the driver was in stable condition.

The serious injury crash prompted emergency responders to close Eastbound Compton Road at Madison Avenue to process the scene and clear debris. First responders rerouted affected traffic onto Madison Avenue, while the westbound service lane next to the crash site remained open to help manage vehicle flow.

Crime scene investigators stayed at the wreck site for extended hours to examine evidence and determine the exact cause of the crash. The investigation remains open.
