MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) deputies assigned to the Strategies and Tactics for Opioid Prevention (STOP) Unit seized six illegally possessed firearms during a warrant operation on Monday (September 14th). SCROLL DOWN TO SEE LARGER PHOTO.
Deputies were originally serving outstanding felony warrants when they discovered a subject in illegal possession of multiple firearms. The discovery prompted STOP Unit deputies to obtain a search warrant for the location.
The execution of the search warrant resulted in the confiscation of six firearms. The seized weapons included two tactical-style rifles, two bolt-action rifles, one shotgun, and one handgun.
RCSO officials noted that the proactive enforcement and detailed investigation by the STOP Unit successfully removed the illegally possessed firearms from the community and kept them out of the hands of prohibited individuals.
