MURFREESBORO, TN (WGNS) - Greenhouse Ministries’ LIVE IN THE ’BORO lit up Hop Springs Friday night (9/18/2026), and it wasn’t just the stage doing the shining. As the sun dipped behind the hills, a cool breeze rolled in and set the tone for an evening packed with hometown pride, big talent, and a whole lot of heart. Folks came for the music and the competition, but they left talking about the spirit behind it all.

Murfreesboro’s own Jordan McCullough stepped up and immediately connected with the crowd. He shared stories of growing up in Murfreesboro—running around town, dreaming big, and wanting to help Greenhouse Ministries even as a kid. In a conversation with Bart, Jordan’s sincerity came through loud and clear. Watch him for five minutes and you’ll see it! He’s climbing the ladder of success, but he’s doing it with humility, kindness, and a deep love for his hometown.

Greenhouse Celebrates #28

This year marks 28 years since Cliff and Jane Sharp founded Greenhouse Ministries. Their mission of giving people a “hand UP”—not a handout—has never wavered. Everything they do is rooted in dignity, compassion, and community.

Cliff shared some exciting news: the Ivy On Spring Coffee Shop is expected to open in October. It’ll be just around the corner from the main campus—a cozy spot for friends to gather over coffee or tea, with select items from The Garden Patch Thrift Shop available inside. Like everything Greenhouse touches, it’ll be a place where fellowship and faith come naturally.

He also reminded everyone that the next major event is their annual Thanksgiving meals. “We want people in the community to be able to invite their friends over and enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings,” Cliff said. Applications for meal vouchers begin in early October, and sign‑ups will close once they reach 600 families.

Several upcoming activities are already on the calendar, including the Mother‑Daughter event on Oct. 24, Thanksgiving volunteer sign‑ups Nov. 19–21, and the Thanksgiving Food Drive on Nov. 21. Prep days, turkey collection, sorting donations, and the massive food giveaway—serving 600 families—will all take place that same weekend. 

Cliff emphasized that Greenhouse Ministries simply couldn’t exist without volunteers. Orientation sessions for new volunteers are held every Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. They last about 30 minutes, and anyone unable to attend can contact Regina Anderson at regina.anderson@greenhousemin.org or phone 615‑494‑0499 ext. 136.

Most activities, including volunteer orientations, take place at 307 S. Academy Street, with The Garden Patch Thrift Shop, donation drop‑off, and the soon‑to‑open coffee shop located just across the street.

It was a night of talent, testimony, and togetherness—exactly what LIVE IN THE ’BORO was meant to be.
