MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WGNS) - Detectives with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) are currently on scene near Powells Chapel Road investigating a death.

First responders recovered a body today (Sunday) after receiving an initial report of a deceased person at the location. RCSO detectives remain actively working the area to secure evidence and establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sheriff's officials report that the scene remains active. Authorities confirm there is no threat to the public at this time.
